As part of the exhibition Chaosmose, which brings together a dialogue between the Jean-Jacques Lebel Endowment Fund and the Centre Pompidou collection, Galerie Rue Antoine presents an installation by Jean-Jacques Lebel centered around the trace of the “last nail.”
The result of a collection of tools whose practical purpose has gradually diffracted into projected shadows, this installation can be seen as a thought in action, as a freeze-frame extracted from the flow of a “deep stroll” through flea markets, or as an enigma that the viewer is invited to decipher.
Active both on stage and behind the scenes of the artistic avant-garde, JJ Lebel is an extraordinary and multifaceted figure. A painter, draughtsman, and producer of happenings, as well as a writer and translator, this great mediator of images and ideas has tirelessly worked to foster dialogues between forms and artists.
